Child safety has became the most important issue nowadays due to the Internet and the enticement that it creates among the young people. Parents and guardians should remember that the Internet is not all prim and propper, in fact it can be very disturbing especially when it comes to pornographic or violent content.

However, there are some measures that parents can take to avoid their children from getting exposed to adult content on the Internet. Sometimes, your children innocently come across such websites that entice them further into the dark world of cyber seduction.

What Can Cyber Patrol Do For You

The best way to monitor and prevent your children from viewing the wrong websites and content, you’ll need some sort of internet filtering software. This is where Cyber Patrol comes in to play.

The main objective of Cyber Patrol is to protect your children from the indiscriminate use of the Internet, especially the content that they are not supposed to view. Like any other Parental Internet control device, Cyber Patrol too is a web-filtering program that makes your children’s surfing experience more fun, taking their safety into consideration.

Features of Cyber Patrol

Cyber Patrol is very user friendly and it effectively blocks all the websites that have been specifically listed in the CyberNot list (a list of unsafe websites classified by Cyber Patrol). It recognizes those sites that have already been defined in the ‘patrol’ feature. Therefore, if any pornographic, violent or obscene material being found by the Cyber Patrol, it completely blocks those sites in order to prevent children from further viewing the particular content. The Cyber Patrol software strictly categorized certain websites according to their content. The criterion for this categorization includes factors like partial nudity, complete nudity, sexual content, religious intolerance, Satanism or other cult depictions, illegal gambling sites, information on illegal drugs, etc.

Internet Filtering Options

According to this categorization, parents are free to block all or some of these topics from their computers so that their children are protected. They can customize the settings of the software so that it doesn’t create inconvenience for the other members of the family. The bottom line here is that some sites may not be blocked for a teen user, but it may be blocked for a child. The best thing about this software is that parents have full control over the software. They can add some extra website names that are not already specified on the software list. In addition to that feature, Cyber Patrol also has a regular update feature in which the ‘CyberNot’ list is updated frequently.

Cyber Patrol Advantages

Apart from blocking adult oriented websites, Cyber Patrol also blocks out chat applications and other programs that entice your children to give personal information online. Through Cyber Patrol, parents can also set the timings in order to allow their kids to surf only at those times that have been defined in the settings by them. This software can also block some folders from access, such as the games folder. Another thing about this software is that it is password protected so that your children cannot gain direct access to the software in order to disable it or even delete the software. Cyber Patrol is probably one of the most effective of all parental control softwares in the market.

Other additional features of this software are as follows

  • It helps you to manage the time that your kids spend online.
  • It blocks downloads so that your kids cannot download anything without your permission
  • The software monitors your child’s browsing habits 24/7
  • There is always an online support available if you encounter any problems in setting up or handling the system

Cyber Patrol Disadvantages

The only downside to this software is that there is no technical support available via telephone and also it fails to record your child’s browsing logs.
